All vacations available self-drive.The following itinerary is an example only. All holidays are tailor made to suit the needs of your group. A vacation for golfers not wishing to travel to excess. The tour is centred around the lovely town of Troon and all venues are except Turnberry Ailsa are within 15 minutes of your hotel. Non golfers have a full program of visitation. The visits have been intentionally selected to cover the central area of Scotland and includes the capital city of Edinburgh and the largest city of Glasgow. FRIDAY - Depart U.S.A. on evening flight to Scotland. SATURDAY - Arrive Scotland where you will be welcomed by your Eagle Golf Tour Director and conveyed by seventeen seater mini bus to the majestic Turnberry Hotel. Golf in the afternoon has been arranged on the Arran course, while non golfers will be free to relax and enjoy the amenities which the hotel provides. Cocktails before dinner and overnight at Turnberry Hotel. SUNDAY - After breakfast golf has been reserved on the Championship Ailsa course situated within the complex. A further round on the Arran course is available in the afternoon. Non golfers will visit nearby Culzean Castle and Country Park. Transfer by coach to the delightful Marine Highland Hotel overlooking the Firth of Clyde at Troon. Dinner and overnight at the Marine Highland Hotel. MONDAY - Golf has been arranged for the morning and afternoon at Western Gailes. It is a beautifully manicured links course of high standard. It is exclusive, founded in 1897 and the standard scratch of 72 measures 6664 yards. Non golfers will tour the Ayrshire Burns country, visiting the cottage where Robert Burns was born, the Memorial erected in his honor, walk over the famous Brig O-Doon and browse in the heritage center. Dinner and overnight at the Marine Highland Hotel. TUESDAY - Kilmarnock Barassie is the venue for todays golf. A links course of the highest quality, measuring 6473 yards, with a standard scratch of 71 and founded in 1887. Failure to master the course in the morning can be rectified in the afternoon. Non golfers will depart for Glasgow and visit the Burrell Collection and some of the fine Museums in Scotland’s industrial capital. High Street shopping is available. Dinner and overnight at the Marine Highland Hotel. WEDNESDAY - The challenge today is Glasgow Gailes, founded in 1787. A links course of 6502 yards, S.S.72, which is tough and presents problems to recover from the stray shot. Two rounds have been reserved. Non golfers can rest today and walk around the lovely sea-port town of Troon. Dinner and overnight at the Marine Highland Hotel. THURSDAY - Today you may walk from your hotel, overlooking the 18th green of the Old Course, Royal Troon on to it’s 1st tee and commence your challenge of it’s championship standard. Unfortunately, ladies are not permitted to play the Old Course, but will play the nearby Portland course. Lunch for both ladies and gentleman golfers is included and served in the clubhouse restaurant. Afternoon golf on the Portland course is included. Non golfers will visit Edinburgh traveling by coach from the west to the east coast of Scotland. In the city you will have time to visit the Palace of Holyrood, The Castle, walk the Royal Mile and have time to shop in Princes Street. Dinner and overnight at the Marine Highland Hotel. FRIDAY - Play two rounds of golf on the unique Prestwick Old Course links founded 1851, 6544 yards S.S.72. Birth place of “The Open” Championship. Non golfers will visit the lovely market town of Ayr for a stroll through it’s many streets and fine shops. Dinner and overnight at the Marine Highland Hotel. SATURDAY - Depart the Marine Highland Hotel for your return flight to the U.S.A.> |
